Tristan Eaton's Athens Mural Commemorates Lives Lost to Cancer

Tristan Eaton, along wit friend and artist Ioanna Loupasaki of Berlin, visited Athens to create a unique mural dedicated to all those who've lost the battle against cancer.

Inspired by Loupasaki's late sister Angeliki, the mural can be seen on Thessalonikis Street as part of UrbanAct's plan to bring art to the streets . It stands in the wider area of Kerameikos, the oldest cemetery in Athens and is an attempt to connect ancient Greek civilization with contemporary art through the common expression of mourning a loved one.

The aim of the project is to capture a less isolating way to grieve, something that is more visible, colorful, and part of our daily life so as to connect people on a larger scale in community.
