Rose plays Alison Woods, a deaf caterer who’s recruited by the police to lip-read covert conversations between dangerous criminals. As the investigation unfolds, she begins to fall for one of the suspects — and has to decide how far she’s willing to go.
"This is Rose’s first major lead role, and she was incredible to work with — focused, collaborative, and totally engaged with the process. She brought a clear sense of her character to set, which made the shoot all the more compelling.
As well as Rose, a large part of the crew were deaf or hearing impaired so I made sure some of my team could sign. I normally direct using language to shape emotion, posture, and connection, but this shoot made me approach that differently. It made me more thoughtful about how I use language, tone, and presence — and how to communicate with clarity, empathy, and intention without relying on words." - Sebastian
