If you could describe your work in 3 words, what would those be?
Surreal, joyful & unapologetic.

Was there a defining moment when illustration turned from a pastime to your career?
I would say the day I decided to leave my architectural background behind and decide to go into illustration. It was a very clear thought in my mind and even though I hadn’t made any illustrative work at the point, I had never been so sure of anything in my life.

What's the first thing you do when you get a new client brief?
I tend to digest as much information as possible and get straight in to sketching loose ideas. There is no better feeling than those first ideas that come into your head. It’s pure creation without any restrictions.

Early bird or a night owl?
Early bird! The many years of waking up early to get to school have stuck with me. We lived a town over so had to wake up especially early.

Do you have a good trick for working past a creative block?
The best thing that has helped my is to take a break to go for a run. It clears my mind and I offer her my best ideas while on the treadmill.

How do you reward yourself when you finish a big project?
As much social time as I can get. Failing that a nice cup of tea and a movie.

What's your absolute favorite piece of work you created in the past 12 months?
My favourite piece in the last 12 months would be my 2001 poster for Mondo. I had been wanting to work with them for over 5 years so when I got the email I was extremely excited! The fact that it was for the best film ever made was the icing on top! (image shown below)

If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would that be?
Don’t worry, be happy. Things will work out.
